Federally Empolyed Women's 38th National Training Program Training Today, Leaders Tomorow

Education/Career Fair

FEW invite’s you to participate in an Education/Career Fair in conjunction with its exciting National Training Program. Don't miss this outstanding opportunity to highlight your agency, college, or university to thousands of individuals while at the same time supporting a high-quality, affordable educational opportunity through Federally Employed Women’s (FEW) 2007 National Training Program (NTP). To participate in this event, please contact Wanda V. Killingsworth, 2007 NTP Education/Career Fair Coordinator, at 202-283-2892 or via email at [email protected].

Purpose

This event will provide NTP participants with valuable tools, materials, insights, and guidance for a better understanding of their educational and career choices. The Education/Career Fair is an excellent way to assist agencies, colleges, and universities with their strategic recruitment and planning when searching for prospective employees and students.

Target Audience

An Education/Career Fair brings together individuals seeking opportunity whether it’s in employment or higher education and provides a forum to networking and making contacts.
  • An agency with specific vacancy announcements, promotional opportunities, details, and temporary assignments to permanent federal employee in a competitive position or veterans' preference or separated from the armed forces under honorable conditions after three years or more of continuous military service.

This is an excellent opportunity for agencies seeking to meet their human capital issues and strategic plans by addressing mission-critical occupations that seek to attract, acquire, develop, and retain quality talent.

  • A two or four-year accredited college or university that is a premier learning institution in the local Washington, D.C., Metro area whose students are among the best-prepared and most knowledgeable in the world—a college or university that offers credit programs and continuing education courses in a variety of formats and supports student development—or a college or university that promotes excellence and innovation in education as well as a commitment to the advancement of women.

Schedule

The Education/Career Fair will be held on Monday, July 16, 2007, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. FEW will provide a setup of a table and two chairs; your agency, college, or university should provide any materials and a table top display.

Other Benefits

Combining the fair with other NTP events can result in a savings in travel expenses for an agency, college, or university since many of the individuals will already be at the meeting site to attend the NTP. This offers an opportunity for participants to meet face-to-face, an invaluable benefit in today’s work climate of limited travel and heavy dependence on technology for communication. Agencies can promote their available job listings while colleges or universities can promote their educational institution and the academic programs offered. By opting to participate, an agency, college, or university raises its visibility with all NTP attendees, which can be an effective public relations and recruiting tool.
